The Company provides policies on handling of personal information of our customers and conducts appropriate use/management of it to become a trustworthy insurance company for our customers.

(Handling of Personal Information of Customers)

1. Compliance with relevant rules and regulations
The Company handles customer's personal information by complying with the Information Privacy Act and other relevant laws/guidelines.
2. Acquisition of personal information
The Company acquires the minimum personal information of our customers by legitimate and fair means.
3. Use of personal information
The Company uses personal information within the following purposes as long as it is necessary for its business operations.
  1. Underwriting/renewal/maintenance of various insurance policies and payment of benefits/proceeds
  2. Announcement/provision of various products/services of the Company and its affiliated companies/partners and maintenance of the policies
  3. Provision of information/administration of the Company's businesses and enhancement of products/services
  4. Other insurance-related/auxiliary operations
Any change in purpose of use will be notified to customers or announced on the Website etc.
When personal information is used beyond its original purpose, we will obtain consent of the customer, except for the following cases.
  1. It is required by laws
  2. It is necessary to protect life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain consent of the customer
  3. It is particularly necessary for enhancement of public health or sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain consent of the customer
  4. The information is necessary for cooperating with a government institution or a local government organization or person(s) who received entrustment from these organizations in performing the duties required by laws and regulations, and execution of such duties may be affected by notifying or disclosing the purpose of use to the customer.
4. Provision of personal information to a third party
The Company will not provide personal information to a third party without prior consent of a customer in writing. However, the Company may provide personal information of customers to an external party in case it is necessary for sound operation of insurance scheme, in case the Company outsources its business for purposes specified in "3. Use of personal information" above, in case it is required by laws and regulations or in case it is considered necessary for public interests, to the extent necessary for these purposes.
5. Sensitive information concerning healthcare
We will obtain and use sensitive information concerning healthcare as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes of use specified in "3. Use of personal information" above.
Sensitive information includes the information already acquired by the Company.
6. Management of personal information
The Company maintains personal information as accurately as possible and manages it safely.
The Company takes actions for appropriate information security against unauthorized access, computer virus etc., to prevent loss, damage, alteration and leakage of personal information and for safety control of personal information.
7. Disclosure/correction/suspension of use/deletion of personal information
The Company acknowledges that customers have the right to ask for disclosure/correction/suspense of use/deletion etc. of their information and responds promptly to such requests.
8. Organization/company system
The Company appoints Chief Personal Information Officer to ensure appropriate management of personal information.
The Company provides training to directors and employees on protection and appropriate management of personal information and ensures that personal information is handled appropriately in the daily operations.
9. Preparation/implementation/maintenance/improvement of the personal information protection program
The Company formulates the personal information protection program (including this policy, "Personal Information Protection Rules" and other rules and regulations) to enforce this policy, communicate them to employees of the Company and other related parties, and implement/maintain/continuously improve them.
